Happy Long Weekend!
We had a great week! It was a very busy 4 days in second grade.
Thank you so much for reading with your child this week! They did a great job reading their books and they are so excited to read in our guided reading groups. They have also done an awesome job reading independently.
This week we have used the book, The Bad Case of Stripes, as our mentor text. We made predictions, learned new vocabulary, discussed the authors purpose, and read the story. Next week we will discuss character traits, setting, problem, and solution.
In math we had our first test. I am so proud of them. They did a great job! It is nice to see them working through problems they don't know. They should be very proud!
Second graders wrote their first story this week. We have been working on adding details. They wrote a fall story and painted fall trees!
