Week of 9/25

Second graders have had another great week. Your children amaze me daily! They are so fun and eager to learn.

We added lots of new things to our schedule this week. We finished our first spelling unit and also added handwriting.

We have had fun doing many book projects that help set the tone for the year.  It is a great way to build our positive class environment. We read, The Invisible Boy, this week. This is one of my favorite books. If you have not read it you should check it out. We will finish our study of this book tomorrow with a project and writing about how we can help our friends feel noticed!

They have been great about NWEA testing! We are done and I am so proud of them!

On Thursday, we will have our first math test of the year. This week you will see home links coming home. Please have your child complete them and return them the next day.

We have also added book boxes to our schedule. We are working on building stamina! Each child has a reading folder and will bring books home to read several times a week! I hope you enjoy reading with your children as much as I do!

The highlight of our week was our river walk! We had so much fun exploring and drawing. It was a great way to learn and enjoy the outside. On Friday, we painted what we saw and wrote some great stories about our experience!

The joys of having a nice eating area outside your classroom door!

 Walking 6 feet apart!
