September 29th

Hearing the kids say it is cold out was actually very nice! I am not a big fan of winter, but I have to say it was nice to feel the fall air!

I wanted to share some pictures from the last few weeks:
Multiplication and division with jelly beans!
We used the pan balance and gram weights to measure and compare.

We made fossils out of clay.

They then put them in sand and gravel to see which one helped or damaged the fossils.

We read the book, Bubble Gum Brain, and decided we should make bubble gum! It was lots of fun...

and VERY yummy!
Our next fossil activities was pressing ocean animals and dinosaurs into clay. We let them dry so we can turn them into necklaces, key chains, or coins.

Measuring and plotting fossils.

Sorting fossils by the place they are found.

Creating a swamp, ocean, land, and desert for their fossils. They finished this project by looking up fossil facts.

Painting our fossils!

After having a spelling test, math test, and a science NWEA it was time for a cool treat!
