  Happy Fall,

Some of my third graders chose Creating in Nature:

I missed pictures of our dance party break on Friday, but caught this...apparently she was not a fan of Shake it off!! Hahahah

The start of our fall writing project!

Studying dinosaur bones in science.

I hope you have had a wonderful fall weekend. I love this time of year, but definitely wish it would last longer.

We had another great week in third grade. We are almost through our first science unit and they are loving it! I love to hear their thoughts and predictions as we go through each unit.

Most of them have finished their Magic Glasses stories. This week we will move onto some fall writing. They have also been doing some great creative writing.

In reading, we have been discussing how to pick a book that is just right for them. They have filled their book boxes and reading is one of my favorite times of the day. We also talked about abandoning books and finishing books from start to finish. I am very proud of their stamina!

We are coming to the end of the first math unit. Last week we did lots of work with multiplication and division. This is a great time to practice multiplication facts at home. As you know our math program spirals so we will revisit these skills on and off all year.

IMPORTANT:

NO Spelling test this week…we will do word work in class.

MINI-DAY Thursday and NO SCHOOL Friday and Monday!

Have a great week,

Holly Humphrey
