Second graders had a great week! We all survived Halloween!

This is a busy and exciting time of year in second grade. 

In math this week we discovered something exciting...we can use our desk as our whiteboards! It is the little things that make us happy. We also used our tables to to make large numbers lines for adding. 

Second graders are getting good at number stories. I love to hear their strategies and their math thinking. They are pretty smart!

We continue to read daily. I love it when they are excited to read in our groups.  I am already seeing so many gains and I could not be prouder of them.

We also started our first personal narrative. Second graders completed a graphic organizer and will now put it into a story about their family.

In science second grade designed a bird feeder.  They had to draw 2 different feeders and then make one with the materials provided to them.
