Our Week

What a wonderful week in grade two! This was a very exciting week: projects and parades!

Second graders have learned a lot about Native Americans! This week we had a great time creating Native American Villages. While we can't invite others to view our work we did put them on display! We got some AWESOME compliments on our work!

We ended the week with our parade. Second graders listened to the book, Balloons on Broadway, a story about the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. We also watched a clip of the best balloons in the parade. On Friday, they made their own balloons and shared them in the parade! It was so much fun! Thank you for coming and sharing in our fun!

We were very happy to see Bear, Arlen, and Charlie!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Second Grade

Second graders have been learning about Native Americans. We have learned new vocabulary. We started our unit with a KWL chart to find out what we thought we knew and what we wanted to learn.

Last Friday we learned how they made teepees and how they originated. We didn't make real teepees but we made edible ones:

We took a break from our math book on Friday and made turkeys out of pattern block shapes. It was fun but, harder than they thought. They came out great!

On one of our remote days we had fun with Mrs. Shannon!

I want to tell you have proud I am of your children. They went to remote learning on Monday and Tuesday like they were pros. We will continue to practice with our apps and how to turn our assignments in, but I could not be prouder of how well they did!
