December 26

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends! I wanted to say thank you to everyone that sent in treats for our December fun day last Thursday.

We enjoyed a very yummy pancake breakfast with grades 4 and 5...Mrs. Hileman makes the best pancakes!

We read many different versions of The Gingerbread Man and then frosted and ate gingerbread cookes...YUM! (and they didn't run away :) )

Yes we played pie face!! There was a lot of laughter coming from our room! We also shared many other games!

Some of us were already tired from the holiday!

Who knew emoji clips would be such a big hit! I am so proud to have such thankful children in my room!

Enjoy the rest of your break! See you all in 2019!

November 9

Thank you all so much for coming in and meeting during conferences. It is always fun to talk about your children and their growth!

We ended our week with "Fun Friday!" I am amazed at their growth and their hard work. They worked together to complete a word that describes them...FABULOUS! They earned games and popcorn!

It made me so proud to hear them say, "Thank you for letting us do this activity."

Have a wonderful long weekend!

November 5

Wow, how did we enter November? The time goes by so fast! We have been so busy in 2/3.

Grade 3 is now starting Unit 3 in math. They are working hard and I am so proud of how far they have come.  Second grade is going to have their Unit 2 test this week. I wanted to share some of the math activities 2/3 does when we are together. There are times when we all work on math centers together. The centers go with what we are working on in class. We also work on specific skills on IXL. They will also start working on skills from our NWEA testing. It is great to have some separate time in our grade level, but they love to work together and push each other.

In writing we are working on adding lots of detail, adjectives and adding to small moments to make them exciting. We are still working on narrative writing. They did an awesome job on their first informational writing about lobsters.

They are reading up a storm! It is nice to see them taking advantage of our independent reading time. It has been nice to read with them all in a group and individually.

GRADES 2/3 IN PICTURES!

We had a wonderful time at Cole's Transportation Museum. The students lots of neat history facts. They did an awesome job participating in the Junior Curator Program!

Introducing the 2/3 Surgical Team. They had a blast performing Text Feature Surgery!

We had a great October 31st with kindergarten. We went BATTY! They kids did bat activities, learned bat facts, and ate bats...ewwwww!
