November 9, 2017

Third grade has been busy...we survived school with no power, we had a trip to Cole's Transportation museum, we set sail for the New World, and had very nice Veteran's Day celebration!

I hoped you were able to see our trip to Cole's Museum on our Veazie Facebook page. We had a great experience and I could not have been prouder of your children. First, we participated in the Junior Curator Program. The students looked at old artifacts and had to read about them and decide how they were used. We then had a tour of the museum. Third graders took notes and asked great questions. It was a proud moment when our guide said they were the best third graders he has had visit the museum. You should be very proud of your children...I sure am!

We set sail for the New World last week. Third graders are doing a Plymouth Colony Simulation. We are having a blast learning about life as a pilgrim. They are working in teams to answer questions, learn about survival, and learn what life was like so long ago.

On Thursday, we celebrated Veteran's Day. The intermediate wing made posters for each brand of the service. They wrote poems and thank you notes to share. We had several students read a poem and a thank you to the Veterans that visited our school.

We are starting to learn our multiplication facts. In class we are making cards to help us become fast! If you could send in index cards to help us with this that would be great.

Third grade is in need of:
index cards
sticky notes
board games for inside recess(if you have any to share)

Thank you so much for your support. I am enjoying your children and their excitement to learn!
